Project no 14 - new career as an illustrator?

Recently, through recommendation of my mentee Adilah, I was given the opportunity to paint the cover of a history based fiction story book.

Based on several illustrations of the historical background, I am supposed to tap the inspiration for the story and thus able to draw the cover page.

Even though, I have almost never drawn people as subject of my paintings before, this time is is unavoidable since the story line was about conflict, fighting and civil war of a certain era.

The final painting captures an image of an inferno on the ancient wooden fortress..


Finally, the book came out from the publishers..

Another book cover project came not long after that..



The book would be titled "Langit Kelabu di Masjid Kerisik" which is supposed to depict gray skies above the mosque named Masjid Grisek or Masjid Kerisek in Pattani, southern Thailand.
