My first project: Still objects

My first painting is just a picture of some still objects. 

An antique blue shelf  on my wall..

Started with free hand sketching with pencil, I just tried to capture some, not all, of the objects on the shelf.

While I was still sketching, my daughter Mariyya was experimenting with mixing the colours. Mixing some turquoise blue and red had accidentally, produced the perfect match to the shelf colour. Antique Blue!

As can be seen here, all the scaling, perspective and alignment are a tad off. But I can safely say, "It's okay.. it is after all my first attempt at painting!"

The tasbeeh beads were added later to balance up the picture in the frame. The dangling tasbeeh beads hanging on the Labu sayung vase has attracted the attention of our pet cat, Momot. So the Labu Sayung, which we have kept more than two decades, is now a was.
